Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:  

Today's image lies in the upper right part of the tail of the fish that filled the image for October 21.  Since we have a nautical theme going, I named the image "Captain Smedley".  I have never known a Captain Smedley, but I must have heard of one somewhere.  Why else would such a name come to mind?

Actually, the image, which was rendered with the outside set to 'tdis', is far too busy, and rates no more than a lowly 5.  The math rates a 6, which is a little better but not enough to celebrate.

Unfortunately, with a calculation time of 7-1/2 minutes, the image is a slow one.  But this time may be saved by viewing the finished image on the web sites.

Tons of sun and a temperature of 68F 20C made today one to be remembered here at Fractal Central.  Unfortunately, the fractal cats had forgotten the day by the time the sun went down.  The humans, who routinely enjoyed the day, did nothing worth reporting.

The next FOTD will be posted in two or three days.  Until whenever it does appear, take care, and what should we fear the most this Halloween -- ghosts, radical terrorists, zombies, an ebola epidemic, witches, an asteroid impact, werewolves, mass shootings, vampires, or the government?
