Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: 

Today's image is a scene deep in the East Valley of the first large minibrot out the main spike of its parent fractal.  This parent is an oversized Mandelbrot set with Z^(21) corruption in its depths.  It is the same parent fractal that held yesterday's scene.

The name "Exponent Challenge" came about when I noticed the apparent battle in the image between the Z^2 and Z^(21) energies.

The rating of an 8 might be a bit liberal, but in my opinion the combination of lively colors and mathematical interest justifies the rating.

The calculation time of 2-3/4 minutes will pass swiftly once the rough image appears on the screen.

Today proved absolutely delightful here at Fractal Central, with a high temperature of 86F 30C and a postcard sky that would have been more at home in the Caribbean.  Never having been more than one foot from home, (except when seeing the doctor), the fractal cats took things in stride and passed most of the day sleeping and eating.  The humans passed the afternoon on a short antiquing expedition.

The next FOTD will be posted very soon, whatever this might mean.  Until whenever, take care, and many people believe that ghosts are not real.  But no one knows it.  As for myself, I am a skeptical true believer.
