Feb. 7, 2014: A Sweet Tooth | Feb. 6 | Feb. 9 | 2014 | FOTD Home |
Fractal
visionaries
and enthusiasts:
Today's image takes us back to the large eastern bud of the parent
fractal of yesterday's image. But today we check the
easternmost
of the two northern valleys leading to the bud.
I named the image "A Sweet Tooth" when something about it reminded me
of candy.
The art rates an 8. I might have done better by trying
different
outside options, but laziness won the day and I went with the default
equal iteration bands, which for some reason are not consecutive in
today's image.
The calculation time of 6-1/2 minutes is rather slow for a humdrum
fractal with no fancy bells and whistles. Checking the web
sites
can save time, and who knows, there is always the chance that a bell or
whistle or two might have been added as a variation.
Lots of sun, a high temperature of 28F -2C and light winds made today
quite bearable here at Fractal Central. The fractal cats
enjoyed
the sun, which at its angle at this time of the year, falls the
strongest on their shelf in the southwest window. The humans
meanwhile had a totally human day.
The next FOTD will probably not be posted until February 9, two days
from now. Until then, take care, and time could be our
awareness
of the changes we see as we move at the speed of light through the
four-dimensional spacetime continuum one three-dimensional slice at a
time.
