Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:
Today's
image is a
scene in one of the Z^(1.02)+C parent fractals. Since the
complex
logarithm is multi-valued, there are multiple fractals the expression
can create. Most of these fractals are over-sized
torpedo-shaped
things, though only some have the interesting fractal semi-chaos along
their edges. Today's scene lies in a bit of this semi-chaos
along
the southwest shore line of its parent.
This parent fractal is unusual in that it has a small island-arc of
debris lying inside its main bay, totally disconnected from the nearest
shore. I have not yet checked this island, though at first
glance
it appears relatively unpromising.
The name "Not Quite Linear" describes the generating
expression.
The rating of 7-1/2 is about average. I did put a little
extra
effort into the coloring, though it is debatable whether my work made
much of an improvement.
If you run the parameter file, do not be concerned if nothing appears
on the screen for a minute or two. The top inch or so of the
image is a flat color.
With a calculation time of 12 minutes, the image is a slow
one.
The web sites can relieve impatience however.
A perfectly average mid-April day passed uneventfully here at Fractal
Central today, with partly cloudy skies and a temperature of 59F
15C. The fractal cat ignored the weather, exhausting his
energy
playing under an afghan. The humans had a day as average as
the
weather.
The next FOTD will be posted in one day, maybe two. Until
