Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: 

Today's image was created with a crazy mix of Z, Z^(2), Z^(-10) and Z^(0.5).  This unlikely mix creates a parent fractal that is little more than a field of debris shaped roughly like an M-set, with a small minibrot near the origin.  Most of the debris lies scattered west of this small minibrot, with today's scene located in the East Valley of an even tinier minibrot far out in the northwest part of the debris field.

I named the image "Elephant Carousel" when I saw the eight elephants circling the central minibrot.

The coloring came out very well, (If I don't say so myself.), and raises the art rating to a superior 9.  The math rating of a 7 is more ordinary.

The calculation time lays an egg however.  The four minutes required to finish the job drags notably, but this slowdown may be avoided by checking the web sites.

Prime weather conditions prevailed today here at Fractal Central.  Once the early morning fog cleared off, not a cloud was seen for the rest of the day.  The temperature rose from a morning low of 36F +2C to an afternoon high of 72F 22C.  The fractal cat would have enjoyed the fine weather better if FL had not disturbed his nap when she was seized by an uncontrollable desire to do some house cleaning.

The next FOTD will be posted in a number of hours.  Until the exact number is revealed, take care, and I will no longer post my non-fractal philosophical and political ideas to the Fractint list.  Such stuff is really not fractal enough.  But I will continue posting my thoughts to the official FOTD web site, where anything goes.  I am even thinking of starting a blog where I will share what I have observed and concluded about the world and the human condition in my many (over 70) years of observation.
