Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: 

Today's image combines various negative portions of straight Z, Z^(2), Z^(3) and Z^(4) before adding straight C on each iteration.  The critical initial value of Z is -0.623....  On the surface the parent fractal resembles a quartic Mandeloid rotated 180 degrees, but in its depths the parent takes on purely quadratic characteristics.

Today's scene lies in a valley in a small distorted bud on the northeast shore line of the northwest lobe of the 3-lobed main bay of the parent.

I named the image "Intricate Activity" because of the intricate patterns surrounding the central minibrot.  This intricacy seems to be a typical part of images created from four separate exponents of Z, and might hold much fractal promise.

The double rating of a 7 indicates that the image is somewhat above average, but nowhere near worth the 1/4 hour required to calculate it.  If I had put more effort into the coloring, I might have been able to raise the art rating to a 7-1/2 or even an 8.

The day began foggy and chilly, with a temperature of 43F +6C here at Fractal Central.  The fog lifted by late morning however, leading to a mostly sunny and quite pleasant afternoon with a temperature of 72F 22C.  The fractal cat enjoyed the outside conditions from his safe chair indoors.  The humans meanwhile passed the day doing human things.

The next FOTD will be posted when it is.  Don't wonder about or expect anything more specific.  Until whenever, take care, and I just found a Boltzmann Brain hiding under the basement stairs.  I wonder where it came from and what it is thinking about.
