shot tower

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

There was no FOTD for yesterday, September 12.  It was an unfortunate break due to an unexpected rush job that arrived at FC.

Yesterday's fractal lack is hopefully made up for by today's image, which shows what happens to our strange open rectangle when it is viewed in its Parabolic orientation.

The rectangle, or at least three sides of it, lies at the apex of the tall brownish central tower.  This tower consists entirely of inside stuff made visible by the FMOD inside fill.  When the rectangle is made visible in this way, we can see that its effects extend artificially well beyond its assumed bounds.

I named the image "Shot Tower".  It reminds me of a historic shot tower in Downtown Baltimore that fascinated me when I was an impressionable and very curious youngster.

The rating of a 7 might be more than the image is actually worth.  After all, a fractal rectangle can be stretched only so far.  But the calculation time of only one brief minute is a bargain price for any image.

Perfect weather prevailed here at Fractal Central today, with wispy clouds and a temperature of 82F 28C.  The fractal cats had an unusually lazy day, sleeping from 10am until after 3pm.  The humans had a few words to say about politics, but for a change we pretty much agreed.  The next FOTD will be posted when it is ready.  To find when that might be, keep checking.  Until whenever, take care, and the U.S. says it wants to defend freedom.  Does this include the freedom of nations that do not wish to be 'defended' to expel U.S. military forces from their territory?
