total rectangle

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Today's image is named "Total Rectangle".  I gave it this name because every square millimeter of it lies inside a larger rectangle.  A minor outzoom will reveal the edges and near-perfect shape of the unseen larger figure.

The image, which is oriented at an angle rotated 2 degrees from the Julia toward the Oblate direction, has been highly stretched and skewed to return the elements to recognizable proportions.

The square-spiral shapes filling the frame are quite common inside Z^(2.003)+C rectangles.  They remind me of something fractal that I have seen previously, though at the moment I cannot recall where.

I rated the image at a 7-1/2, mostly for the unusual near-monochrome coloring, which required almost an hour to work out.

The calculation time of 3-1/2 minutes will simply fly by, at least for those who live and breathe fractals in the fractal multiverse in which we exist.

After a noisy thunder-storm and lightning show at midnight last night, fine warm late summer weather prevailed here at Fractal Central today, with mostly blue skies, puffy white clouds and a temperature of 88F 31C.  The fractal cats spent hours gazing at the outside world that they never get to enjoy.  The humans spent the day occupied with mostly indoor things.  The next FOTD will be posted in the proper cosmic time, but until that moment arrives, take care, and wonder intensely about the things that are worth being wondered about.  Try to ignore the rest.
