Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Today's image is a scene in the parent fractal that results when the expression Z^(1.99)+C is iterated at ground level with the 'recip' function applied.  This parent resembles a Mandelbrot set rotated about 15 degrees CCW so that the negative X-axis cuts through the northwest shore line of the large period-2 bud.  The image is located in the area of this intersection, where things always go a bit goofy.

I named the image "Jewel of the Deep" when the bright patches reminded me of something like pearls lying on the sea floor.  Yes, I know pearls don't just lie on the sea floor, waiting to be picked up.  They are formed in oysters.

The rating of a 7 is getting to be a habit, but who can complain about an image a full 2 points above average.  The calculation time of 2-2/3 minutes is a fair price for an image with a rating of a 7.

The day here at Fractal Central began with a mild thunder shower, followed by alternating sun and showers until 3pm, when a whopper of a storm moved in with crackling lightning and torrential rain.  The fractal sump pump did its job however.  The temperature of 73F 23C was agreeable enough, at least for the fractal cats.  FL and I had a typical day of doing routine stuff, none of which is worth reporting.
