Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

In yesterday's discussion about the parent fractal of today's image, I mentioned that the northern period-20 bud is as large as the period-3 bud, which is located on the southern side of the main bay.

Today's image is a scene in the radical of that period-20 bud.  The location lies in what would normally be considered an elephant-trunk, though in this case, the 'trunk' is nearly straight, and instead of terminating in a spiral, takes a sharp break to the left and dies out in an archipelago of fractal debris.

While searching for a name, I had a strong impression of different-flavored taffies.  I then named the image "Taffytown".

The rating of a 9 might be excessive, but I really like the image, with its impressive effect of a third dimension and bubbling taffy.

Heavy showers during the morning here at Fractal Central on Tuesday gave way to a pleasant, mostly sunny afternoon with a temperature of 81F 27C.  The fractal cats appeared quite pleased with conditions, and took up their sentry posts in the side window to watch for unwanted cats.  We left the window open most of the afternoon.

My day was reasonably peaceful, though I did almost get involved in a futile discussion at lunch time, when FL said something about public education, or the lack thereof.  The next FOTD will be posted in 24 hours.  Until then, take care, and get smart.
