Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Today's image is a scene in the East Valley of a parent fractal shaped like a hyperbola.  The hyperbola is actually a Mandelbrot set whose western regions have enlarged to the point of infinity.  (If the imag(p1) parameter is reduced ever so slightly, the M-set expands beyond infinity and, as is the nature of hyperbolas, returns from the opposite direction.)

I rated the image at a 7 despite my dislike of pastel shades.  FL likes pale light tints and thought the image should be rated at a 9.  Actually, I did tone down the pastel effect a bit since I rated it.

The name "Candied Decoration" carries the feeling of the scene.

Thursday here at Fractal Central began with fog.  The fog lifted by 10am, revealing a cloudy sky.  But by midday the clouds cleared away, leading to a midsummer-like afternoon, with plenty humidity and a temperature of 84F 29C.  A small shower developed in the southwest at sunset, but moved off peacefully to the south and dissipated.  The fractal cats watched none of this, missing all the awe and wonder.

The next FOTD will be posted in 24 hours.  Until then, take care, and do Atheists hold religious belief or not?  They do not believe in God or heaven, which implies they hold no religious beliefs; but as I see it, they do believe that no god or heaven exists, which means they do hold a belief about religious things--they believe it's all a feel-good superstition.  I guess it's just word play.  And as for my beliefs--we'll skip that for now.
