Today's late FOTD is a quick journey to Seahorse Valley of a minibrot on a filament extending from a sub-bud on the northwest shoreline of the bud centered around -1.3 on the negative X-axis of the Mandelbrot set.

I gave the image no rating because I put no extra effort into it.  We have the richness of the M-set to thank for the image existing at all.

The name "Hurried Minibrot" is a statement of fact.

The zippy calculation time of 9 seconds is mostly due to some clever programming tricks of the Fractint team.

A midsummer-type day prevailed here at Fractal Central on Wednesday, with a temperature of 86F 30C and lots of sun.  But at 5pm a sudden thunder-storm moved in, bringing torrential rain, winds gusting to 50mph 80kph and crackling lightning.  The storm moved off as fast as it arose.  The fractal cats were spooked by the loud thunder, and ducked into the closet, but when things calmed down, they re-appeared as though nothing had happened.  The next FOTD will be posted in 24 hours.  Until then, take care, and one place where you never want to get lost is the Mandelbrot set.
