With a magnitude of over 2*(10^13), today's scene is right at the limit of resolution.  In fact, the start of breakdown actually adds a bit of jagged variety to the iteration bands.

The scene lies in one of the more remote valleys of the parent fractal that is created when 2 parts of Z^3 are combined with 3 parts of Z^3 before straight C is added on each iteration.

The name "Testing--1--2--3" means absolutely nothing.

The high point of Monday came at lunch, when FL wondered which species of animal on earth I consider to be the greatest threat to humanity.  How could I resist such an opportunity?  My answer was honest.  I told her I consider humanity to be the greatest threat to itself, and I doubt that any fantastic new high-tech plan can cope for long with our out-of-control reproduction.

Instead of expending our energy on secondary problems like climate change, we should be more concerned with the primary problem -- our vast and still growing numbers.  If we continue having children at the present rate, the number of children will soon reach the point of self-destruction.  We need a solution that is acceptable as well as both moral and effective.  Do I hear any suggestions?  I guess not.

Perfect end-of-summer weather prevailed here at Fractal Central on Monday.  At this time of year perfection means cloudless skies, gentle winds and a temperature of 73F 23C.  The fractal cats celebrated by getting into a tussle behind a shelf of books in the hallway and spilling about a dozen books onto the floor.  Cassie looked the most guilty when the books were picked up.
