Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Due to a lack of time, today's image shows a lack of attention, which holds it to a rating of an unimpressive 6.  To create the image I combined 1/2 negative part of Z^(-4.5) with 1-1/2 negative parts of Z^(-1.5) and added (1/C).

The terraced effect was achieved by rendering the image with the inside set to 'tdis'.  The name "Top of the Crop" is a bit misleading.  Actually, the image is the top of nothing.

As for that photograph of the tattooed woman on the web site, I don't think the photo is faked.  The foreshortening where the fractal wraps around the woman's sides would be difficult to pull off this convincingly.  Most likely the fractal is some kind of dye transfer, and the woman and photographer planned the picture together.  The effect would have been more convincing if they had eliminated the iteration bands.

Far too much heat filled the air here at Fractal Central on Thursday.  The temperature of 97F 36C was made bearable only by the relatively low humidity.  The fractal cats must have agreed, for they clung to the cool kitchen floor like flies to flypaper.

My day was busier than expected, but things should slow to a more reasonable pace on Friday.  The next FOTD will be posted in 24 hours.  Until then, take care, and to be a reasonable person, one must have faith that the things observed by the five senses are the ultimate reality.
