Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:  

There is little of interest in the (-Z)^(1.09)+C Mandeloid when Z is initialized to 0,0 the critical value.  But when Z is initialized to something like 1.64, as it is in today's image, some strange things start happening.  I named the image "Strange Happenings" after some of this strangeness.

The strangest part of the image is the tall triangular open doorway with chaotic but perfectly straight edges that appears to lead to an unknown world.  Perhaps rendering the scene with an active inside fill will reveal some of the unknown.  I don't know.  I have not yet tried it.

The art aspect of the image rates a 7 despite its rather gaudy coloring.  The math rates an 8, since the detail was totally unexpected.

The calculation time of 3-1/4 minutes borders on slowness.  The web sites, where the finished image is posted, will bring salvation from minutes of waiting.

Brilliant sun, a few clouds, a moderate wind and a temperature of 34F +1C brought some improvement to Fractal Central today, though it still felt more like midwinter than late autumn.  The fractal cats were satisfied by the sun, and spent most of the afternoon soaking up as much as possible.  The fractal humans spent the day having one more typical day.

The next FOTD will be posted in either two or three days.  Until that stupendous moment arrives, take care, and the passage of time will eventually kill every one of the seven-billion people now alive on earth.  I suggest we do something about this outrageous situation.  Let's pass legislation to ban the passage of time.  If we did this, it would have no effect, but at least we would feel better.
