Good things take time indeed, and today's image takes a full 20 minutes to finish calculating.  I leave it to the individual viewer to decide whether the image is good enough to warrant the 20-minute running time.

The parent fractal is a strange one indeed, which comes about when (Z) is subtracted from Z^3 on each iteration before (C) is added.  The east part of this parent is normal enough, but it has problems when we look as far west as Seahorse Valley.  Instead of having two branches, in today's parent the valley has four branches, coming from the NW, NE, SE and SW.  Today's scene lies rather deep in the NW valley.

The ratings of 7 and 6 are close to normal, and in my opinion not quite worth the excessive calculation time.  But hope springs eternal in the form of the FOTD web sites.

Heavy clouds and occasional rain spoiled the day here at Fractal Central.  The temperature of 57F 14C was mild enough, but who could enjoy it with rain threatening?  The fractal cats Nico and Jazzy made the most of things, chasing each other up and down the long fractal hallway like Nico once did with fractal cat Cassie when she was still around to chase him and be chased.  The fractal humans passed the day doing fractal chores.

The next FOTD fractal will most likely but not certainly be posted in 24 hours.  Until whenever, take care, and could fractals be an evil government plot?
