Fractal
visionaries
and enthusiasts:
Today's image lies in the parent fractal that is generated when
straight Z is combined with sqrt(0.5) parts of Z^(4.01) before straight
C is added on each iteration. This parent resembles a
Mandelbtot
set rotated so that its west side faces southeast. Its
normally
solid East Valley, now on its northwest side, is cleaved into two
prominent 'wings' by a large intruding valley. Today's scene
lies
on the edge of this large valley, which separates the two 'wings'.
The name "Land of Terraces" describes what I imagine I see in the
image. Others could easily see things entirely different.
In an effort to make something of a lackluster image, I rendered the
scene with the outside set to 'tdis' and the inside set to
'fmod'. The result raises the art value to an amply adequate
7.5,
while the math value remains at a bearable 5. With only
slight
variations, I borrowed the parameters from an image recently sent to me
by Sebastien.
The calculation time of 4 minutes is a bit slow, all the more reason to
seek the web sites for relief.
Partly sunny but quite chilly temperatures prevailed here at Fractal
Central today. The high of 37F +3C was more typical of
mid-December than mid-November. The older fractal cat enjoyed
the
sun when it was shining, while the younger fractal cat, who does not
yet realize that she is a fractal cat, was fascinated by the passing
scene outside. During the cat action the fractal humans had
an
uneventful day. I know that this report is dull.
Those who
want to read about relationships with more interesting interaction
should pick up a romance novel.
The next FOTD will be posted in the proper time, which will most likely
be sometime tomorrow evening, U.S. Eastern Standard Time.
Until
then, take care, and thank goodness! I was worried that I
might
be a sasquatch!
