Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Today's image is an extra one, a quickie that I am presenting because of its fiery red colors.  I named it "Inferno" for obvious reasons.  The rating of an 8 seems fair enough for the image.

The parent fractal came about when I added 0.2 parts of Z^(-3) to Z^2 before adding C.  This parent consists of little more than debris scattered in the vague shape of a Mandelbrot set.  Today's scene is located in one of the northern clumps of debris.

The terraced effect was achieved by rendering the image with the outside set to 'tdis'.  Except for the equal-iteration-bands option, the other outside options create too much chaos to be useful with this particular fractal.

The render time of 2-1/2 minutes seems just about right.

Sun, clouds and slightly chilly temperatures gave the fractal cats just enough outdoor time to keep them happy on Friday here at Old Fractal Central.  When two other local cats got into a noisy fight in the bushes next door, the fractal cats had all the excitement they could handle.  For me the work continues very heavy, so the next FOTD will be delayed one day until Monday the 27th.  Until then, take care, and all is illusion.
