Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Today's image returns us for the first time in quite a while to the MandelbrotMix4 formula, where we examine the fractal that results when Z^(-1.5) is subtracted from Z^(1.5) and (1/C) is added.

The parent fractal appears as a moderate-sized Mandeloid lying well north of the origin, with smaller, mostly shapeless holes scattered about.  One of these scattered holes has a rudimentary East Valley on its east side.  Today's scene is located in this valley.

I rendered the image with the outside set to 'tdis', which IMO works best.  Several other outside options also work well.

Perhaps a bit over-enthusiastically I rated the image at an 8.  It appears unique enough to earn such a superior rating.  I named the image "Jaded Fractal".  The name was inspired by the jade green coloring.

The passes=b option works with today's image, and it is by far the fastest, rendering the image in well under two minutes on my worn-out old machine.

Morning clouds and flurries of snow, followed by too-chilly afternoon temperatures here at Old Fractal Central on Friday kept the fractal cats outdoor time limited to less than 1/2 hour.  But despite the inconvenience, their moods remained acceptable.

With all the work and all the stuff that needs to be done, my mood tended toward the sullen side.  The next FOTD is due in 24 hours.  Until then, take care, and is the search for the meaning of life a true search, a folly, or none of the above?
