July 23, 2012: Sieve of Integers | July 22 | July 24 | 2012 | FOTD Home |
Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:
I
have little
ambition to write the discussion for today's
image. All I need to say is that it is an outzoom of
yesterday's image, which lies near the right edge of the curious
comb-like object in today's image.
I named the image "Sieve of Integers". The large object
filling the frame certainly could be taken as a sieve, and integers
certainly are a part of any fractal.
With few good or bad points, the image rates an average 7.
The brief calculation time of 45 seconds will leave no one with a
feeling of disappointment if the image lays an egg.
Today brought a return of the heat to Fractal Central, with lots of
sun, high humidity, and an afternoon temperature of 93F 24C.
The fractal cats stretched out for the afternoon in the coolest places
they could find.
The humans passed the day pondering human things, especially the
existence of evil. FL tells me I am spreading negative
energies by calling people idiots and their opinions asinine.
Maybe I am. But as I see it, our culture is already
overflowing with negative energies. The least I can do is
recognize the rampant negativity and point it out. I'll go
into more detail in an upcoming FOTD.
The next FOTD will be posted when it is ready, most likely in around 24
hours. Until then, take care, and if we wish to see the
ultimate cause of the latest massacre, we should turn on the TV, go to
the movies, read the latest romance and action novels, play the latest
video games, and listen closely to the current popular songs on the
radio.
