Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Today's image is a very deep one.  It lies on a filament that extends from a larger minibrot that in turn lies on a filament that extends from the fourth bud out the main negative spike of the Mandelbrot set.

Even though the M-set has been so thoroughly explored, I still feel that today's image, due mostly to its coloring, is worth a rating of a 7.

The name "Way Out and Deep" describes the location of the scene in its parent fractal, the Mandelbrot set, which BTW is pretty much the parent of all fractals.

The calculation time of 16-1/2 minutes is within reason, considering the image's magnitude of almost 10^29.

Sunday brought more heat and humidity to Fractal Central.  The temperature of 95F 35C caused the fractal cats to glue themselves to the coolest things they could find.  Monday brought a mixture of sun and clouds, with a torrential shower in the afternoon.  The clouds and rain held the temperature to a more pleasant 86F 30C.  The fractal cats must have approved of the cooler conditions -- they became active.  The humans took things in stride.  The next FOTD will be posted in 48 hours, but in August we will return to the (almost) daily schedule of FOTD images.  Until next time, take care, and what can be done about __________ ?  (Fill in the blank with your favorite plight.)
