Today's image reminds me of a reservoir of hot magma lurking just
beneath the earth's crust, which is why I named it "Boiling
Magma". Actually, magma doesn't boil until it reaches the surface
and becomes lava, but we'll ignore that small detail.
If the image seems a bit familiar, there's a good reason. It's a
blow-up of a section of yesterday's Seahorse Valley image, with only a
bit of skewing and a small tweaking of a few color registers.
The rating of a 7 seems to be about what the image is worth. And
the calculation time of 3-1/4 minutes is also a good value.
A mix of clouds and sun with a temperature of 86F 30C made Tuesday a
rather warm but pleasant day here at Fractal Central. The fractal
cats, who never get to go outside, had a brief thrill when a roaming
tomcat passed through the yard, leaving his scent behind as a calling
card.
My day was busier than average, but not excessively so. The next
FOTD will be posted in 24 hours. Until then, take care, and
