Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:
Today's
image is
named "Broken Elephants" after the fragmentary elephants scattered
around the typical minibrot at the center, the most obvious of which
lies at the top center of the image.
The parent fractal, (and the image as well), came about when I combined
some Z^(3.1) with some Z^(2.7) and added straight C on each
iteration. At first glance this parent resembles nothing more
than a perturbed mandelbrot set, but despite the surface appearance, it
holds intact minibrots. One of these minibrots appears in
today's
image. The scene lies in a larger fragmented elephant in the
East
Valley area of the parent fractal.
The rating of a 7 is routine, since I put too little effort into the
image to raise it to a higher level.
The calculation time of one minute will pass swiftly, though visiting
the web sites will eliminate the task of calculation.
Today brought a mix of sun and clouds and a temperature of 46F +8C to
Fractal Central, which exists as a separate entity only in the
imagination. The fractal cats, who most certainly do exist in
physical reality, spent an hour waiting for more sun, then retired to
the artificial heat. The humans, FL and I, spent the day
working,
finding fractals, and discussing the meaning of it all. The
next
FOTD image will be posted in 24 hours. Until then, take care,

if there is no higher meaning to life, why do so many intelligent
people expend so much energy searching for it?
