Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Today's image lies "Halfway to Infinity" in the same parent fractal that held the images of the past two days.  I'm not sure where halfway to infinity might be located, since infinity has no limit and half of infinity must therefore have no limit also.

The image lies on the brink of evaporation.  A tiny increase in the imag(p3) parameter, which sets the bailout radius, will send the image over the brink, totally changing its character.  A huge increase to one-googol or so will result in a totally evaporated image, which must be made visible by setting the inside to an active fill such as 'bof61'.

The rating of a 6 is fair enough.  I might have raised it to a 7 or so if I had not been overtaken by an attack of laziness, and had done more work on the color palette.

The calculation time of 1-1/2 minutes is very near FOTD average.  This brief wait may be avoided by viewing the finished image on the active FOTD web site at:

Morning clouds were followed by afternoon sun here at Fractal Central on Saturday.  The temperature reached a high of 37F +3C, but a stiff wind from the northwest kept things feeling quite winter-like.  The fractal cats spent most of their time in the sun.
