Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: 

It's the day before the end of days here at Fractal Central, and nothing has happened so far.  Our poor strange curious little rectangle has not been so lucky however.  Very little of it is left in today's image.  What *is* left appears as the mostly obscured yellow stuff near the center of the frame.

Tomorrow will be the actual day of doom -- time to close the rectangular book.  The rectangle will be gone and the remains won't make much of an image, but it's kind of hard to make a good picture of something that is not there.

So say goodbye to the rectangle as you are saying goodbye to the rest of the world.

With so little time left, the very brief 45-second calculation will seem to finish almost instantly.

Clouds arrived just before sunrise here at Fractal Central today and thickened throughout the day, while the temperature hovered around 43F +6C.  The approaching rain arrived at sunset.  The fractal cat had a peaceful day; the humans' day was not quite as peaceful.

Unless the end arrives sooner than expected, the next FOTD will be posted in 24 hours.  If the predicted end fails to arrive (as I expect it will) the next FOTD after tomorrow's will be posted on December 27, one week from today, after a hiatus of 5 days.
