Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

There was no FOTD for December 3rd because of holiday preparations here at FC.  Today's image is actually the one I originally prepared for yesterday, posted now one day late.

Colonies of growing bacteria are not the most pleasant things to observe, but when they appear in a fractal, they are great to wonder about.  Today's image takes us to one of these colonies of fractal bacteria.

The parent fractal is the same ridiculously distorted Mandeloid that held yesterday's image.  Today however we check the arc of debris in the southern lobe of the main bay.  This arc is actually the remains of the original southern shore line of the main bay, which for some reason is starting to dissolve or starting to condense, depending on which way you look at it.

The name "Bacterial Colonies" tells it like it is.

The rating of an 8-1/2 reflects the bit of extra work I put into the coloring.

The calculation time of an estimated 2 minutes is a fair price to pay for a growing colony of fractal bacteria.

After a morning of heavy frost and a temperature of 25F -4C, hazy sunlight prevailed here at Fractal Central for the rest of the day Saturday.  The high temperature of 45F +7C was a bit too chilly for the fractal cats, who spent most of the day curled up by the heat, while the humans kept busy doing holiday stuff.  

Today is Sunday, and it is a repeat of Saturday.  The next FOTD will be posted in 24 hours.  Until then, take care, and if a worldwide monetary collapse were to happen and everyone were to lose everything, where would all the money go?
