Due to a big rush at work, today's usually big FOTD discussion is reduced to a small trial size.

The image lies in the oversized parent fractal that results when 0.11 part of Z^100 is combined with 1.1 parts of straight Z and (1/C) is added.

The name "Pyrotechnic Fractal" refers to the fiery red hues and sparkling highlights infesting nearly every part of the image.  The colors were created almost entirely by the under-rated Fractint coloring system.

The colors alone earn the image a rating of an 8.  Without the colors, the image would be rated closer to a humdrum rating of 6.

The calculation time of under 2 minutes will seem insignificant once a glimpse of the sparkling colors appears at the top of the screen.

Plenty clouds, numerous snow flurries and a temperature around 25F -4C prevailed here at Fractal Central on Wednesday.  The fractal cats preferred to spend the day on the new shelf over the radiator.  We have put their scratching post beside the shelf to make it easier for them to leap up onto when a chill strikes.
