Today's image lies in the parent fractal that was created when I
combined two negative parts of straight Z with one part of Z^(-2)
before adding (1/C). I should say the image lies *near* the
parent fractal, since the parent is a small, slightly distorted
Mandelbrot set surrounded by much smaller and totally disconnected
M-sets. Today's scene actually lies some distance northwest
of
the small but main body of the parent.
I named the image "Lucy Lucent" for reasons unknown even to
myself. I rated it at a 6 because, even though it has little
fractal-math content, the striking colors raise it to FOTD status.
Most of the effect came about when I applied the 'tdis' option to the
original rather boring 'iter' image.
The calculation time of 52 seconds sets no speed record, but it is
brief enough to keep impatience at bay. And the finished

Lots of clouds, frequent flurries of snow and a temperature around 23F
