Today's image is an almost-Julia set of a tiny bud on the west shore
line of the north branch of Seahorse Valley of the Mandelbrot
set. The scene doesn't have very much to offer, but I added some
life to it by rendering it with the outside set to 'real'.
The name "A Higher Reality" came to mind when I briefly opened a book
about the search for a theory of (almost) everything. I lost
count of the number of required dimensions around 26, though I think
the number has been condensed down to 10 or 11. The fewer the
number of dimensions in such a theory, the better. After all, any
person with the faculty or reason can see that reality consists of 1
temporal and 3 spatial dimensions. Apparently, we still have a
lot of dimensions to get rid of.
The rating of a 6 indicates that I am less than enthusiastic about the
image, especially with its calculation time of 5-3/4 minutes.
Wednesday turned much too hot for the fractal cats here at Fractal
Central. When the temperature reached 95F 35C, they took up
residence on the kitchen floor for the rest of the day. My day
was appropriately busy, leaving no time to be worried by the heat.
The next FOTD will be posted in 24 hours. Until then, take care,
and the ultimate reality is what we see with our eyes, hear with our
ears, and touch with our hands. . . . or is it?
